Two themes are discernible throughout my work – textured and formed silver combined with interesting and unusual semi-precious gemstones. The combination of these elements gives my work its signature design aesthetic.
I often start with the stone itself and this informs my design process. Experimenting with textures on silver allows me to echo the markings of the stone. My favourite texturing techniques are hammering and roll printing.
I hope my aesthetic is modern and bold with simple clean lines. My pieces are comfortable and wearable. They are often matt with subtle colourings.
My aim is for my pieces to make an understated statement.
I sell and exhibit my work through shops and galleries and at trade fairs and craft and design events.
I have built up an extensive list of galleries and shops who have sold my work over the years..
I also enjoy working collaboratively and take part in open studio events and group exhibitions.
Between 2010-2015 I owned a contemporary jewellery gallery in Doune, Perthshire where I curated a number of exhibitions showcasing the work of contemporary jewellery designers.
