After graduating from Edinburgh Art College in 1974 (post-graduate year), then a year of teacher training, I taught wove textiles at ECA for 15 years. Since then I have taught privately, and workshops and summer schools, and have exhibited my work throughout the UK and abroad. I have had several major solo exhibitions, and in 2007 NMS honoured me with a retrospective (!) during the Edinburgh Festival.
As well as woven tapestries, I also work with other fibre-based materials and paper, making origami-based folded sculptural pieces. Artist books have been a recent development. Basketmaking featured largely in the last 20 years, and although I have given up making them, I still maintain an interest in the contemporary arena.
