I’m an award winning Scottish jewellery designer based in Wasps Studios, Dundee. I graduated with a BDes (Hons) in Jewellery & Metal Design from Duncan of Jordanstone in 2006. In October 2006, I officially opened Genna Design, and I have been selling my hand made contemporary jewellery ever since. I have my work stocked in numerous galleries throughout the UK and Ireland and exhibit in fairs throughout the UK. I was finalist in the Women Ahead Independent Woman of the Year award in 2013 and 2014, was Nominated as Best Scottish Artist Designer at the Scottish Variety Awards in 2012, gained a Dundee Craft Makers Award in 2011 and 2013, gained a Jolomo Award in 2011 and a Precious Metal Bursary Award from the Goldsmith’s Company in 2006.
The main influence within my work is architecture incorporated with inspiration taken from the Scottish landscape and natural rock formations. I enjoy working with precious metals such as silver and gold but also love to incorporate colour by using perspex and unusually cut stones. I have a vast range of ideas and always try to create innovative designs by adjusting them to suit the needs of my clients, therefore every piece is unique. I am constantly challenging the boundaries of jewellery design, producing both one off and commercial pieces. Designing and making jewellery is my passion and it is my dream to become an international jewellery designer/maker, with my pieces stocked and exhibited throughout the world.
