Helen is a supporter of creative people and creative industries. Working locally, nationally, internationally and voluntarily she designs, produces and facilitates opportunities, initiatives and spaces in which practitioners, micro-businesses and projects can realise their full creative and professional potential. Current clients and roles include: Tashkeel, Dubai as a Facilitator and Mentor on the Tanween Design Programme for emerging designers based in the United Arab Emirates; Panel as Project Manager of the MAKE Manifesto; Creative Scotland as Open Project Fund Assessor (Craft); Vanilla Ink as Mentor to jewellers on the Vanilla INKubator Programme 2020; Fife Contemporary as a Board Member; Design Exhibition Scotland as Chair of a DES Debate 2019; and, Applied Arts Scotland as author of the Shared Creative Modern Apprenticeship Pilot Programme Evaluation Report, Co-Producer of the to be launched CraftToolkit supporting makers / designers / craftspeople to make a start on a simple business plan, and Co-Trainer of professional development workshops for designers and artisan communities in Thailand in partnership with the British Council Thailand as part of the British Council’s Crafting Futures programme.
