Helen is a supporter of creative people and creative industries. Working locally, nationally, internationally and voluntarily she designs, produces and facilitates opportunities, initiatives and spaces in which practitioners, micro-businesses and projects can realise their full creative and professional potential. Current clients and roles include: Tashkeel, Dubai as a Facilitator and Mentor on the Tanween Design Programme for emerging designers based in the United Arab Emirates; Panel as Project Manager of the MAKE Manifesto; Creative Scotland as Open Project Fund Assessor (Craft); Vanilla Ink as Mentor to jewellers on the Vanilla INKubator Programme 2020; Fife Contemporary as a Board Member; Design Exhibition Scotland as Chair of a DES Debate 2019; and, Applied Arts Scotland as author of the Shared Creative Modern Apprenticeship Pilot Programme Evaluation Report, Co-Producer of the to be launched CraftToolkit supporting makers / designers / craftspeople to make a start on a simple business plan, and Co-Trainer of professional development workshops for designers and artisan communities in Thailand in partnership with the British Council Thailand as part of the British Council’s Crafting Futures programme. Previous clients include Cove Park, Craft Scotland, Crafts Council and Make Works.
