Lily Garget

I started working with textiles and embroidery in 2017 and held a solo exhibition in Brechin Townhouse Museum in early 2018. I am just starting my third year of Sculpture and Environmental Art and GSA. I am currently naturally dyeing textiles and wools, and am hoping to grow a dye garden to use specifically for dyeing fabrics. I am interested in making set like sculptural pieces which incorporate my range of making skills. I have recently started making punch needle rugs and hope to expand into dyeing large amounts of wool for these rugs. This would mean that the rugs would be 100% British Sheep wool, naturally and sustainably dyed.
I have been expanding into metal work and am hoping to create a body of outdoor metal work such as furniture, arches and obelisks.
I am aiming towards working as a self employed maker.
I am interested in being part of a community such as Applied Arts Scotland to make connections across Scotland and the world.
