After studying Fine Art at Glasgow School of Art, I joined Graeme Murray Gallery in 1992, helping to design and produce the gallery’s publications. I continued to make photographs, drawings and books, showing occasionally while earning a living working on various arts, publishing and marketing projects. In 2003 I began working with partner, Graeme Murray, making sculptures and furniture using wood and other materials. In 2009, with Graeme and 5 other makers, I helped set up Real Wood Studios, a collectively managed hub facility of woodworking workshops and sawmill. Continuing to manage Real Wood Studios, we work together in our own business on various art, architecture and furniture projects. While still taking part in exhibitions, we are primarily concerned with the direct actions and interventions that contribute to the management of a sustainable environment through innovation and cooperative economies.
