LAYERS UNSEEN is a digital fashion project created by Fashion Interrupted. A collaboration between digital producers Ciorstaidh Monk, Gillian Martin and Emma Clifton and Scotland-based designers Shanagh Marie, Zephyr Liddell and Hayley McSporran, the collaborators learned alongside one another and worked together to digitally produce a capsule collection of three garments and bespoke avatars using pattern making software, Clo3D. Working alongside make-up artist MV Brown, make-up looks were developed for each avatar, and re-produced as Instagram filters. AR filters of life-size avatars were embedded into QR codes enabling the audience to bring the collection into their own space. Exploring decentralised finance, the digital artefacts were ‘minted’ as limited edition NFT’s on carbon-neutral blockchain NEAR. Clubhouse Paradiso were commissioned to create a digital fashion film telling the story of the craftsmanship that goes into digital artefacts.
