September – November

“As the winds slow in the Autumn the ocean calms, upwelling ceases, and warm surface waters shift back toward the coast bringing cooler water in the fading daylight.”

The majority of my raw materials were sourced within walking distance of the studio. The fleece came from two sheep named Cobweb and Roy, members of a local ryeland flock and was processed by hand. The fibre wash hand washed, carded and then hand-spun before being dyed with locally foraged, seasonal plant materials.

Dye plants used include;
Roses, alder cones, nettles and an organic indigo vat.

Handwoven using 100% wool and framed with locally sourced and sustainably felled oak.

Once the item is purchased the maker will be in touch to arrange delivery of the item if it cannot be collected at Custom Lane on Sunday 11th June between 12pm-4pm.
