Description

This playful sculpture aims to contrast the fundamental concepts of the Fibonacci sequence mirrored in the expansive progression of the nautilus’ own hollow chambers with primary colour theory. These bright colours form the building blocks upon which other shades and tones unfurl from, much like the structures following the golden ratio.

A hybrid form of pâte de verre is used to create the initial shell structure before sintering in the kiln and then refined by hand carving. This pile of glass dust is then encased with larger frit seemingly protecting the fragile forms inside whilst resisting crushing it.

Once the item is purchased the maker will be in touch to arrange delivery of the item if it cannot be collected at Custom Lane on Sunday 11th June between 12pm-4pm.
