Description

This mirrored pair reflect each others spiralling forms yet being encased in separate structures questions whether they are creating a void between them or a gateway passage to something less contained. Much like most casting molds, discarded once opened to reveal the discovery inside but an essential part of the process.

A hybrid form of pâte de verre is used to create the initial shell structure before sintering in the kiln and then refined by hand carving. This pile of glass dust is then encased with larger frit seemingly protecting the fragile forms inside whilst resisting crushing it.

Once the item is purchased the maker will be in touch to arrange delivery of the item if it cannot be collected at Custom Lane on Sunday 11th June between 12pm-4pm.
