Description

Tannin and Rust is a wall print made of autumn leaves into discarded paper, and rusty solution using the Botanical printing method. In my practise as a sustainable Botanical printer I aim at using local resources to create unique works of Art that reflects Nature around me. This print is unique and can not be duplicated but I use a process to create that does not leave a carbon foot print behind. Autumn leaves, rusty bits collected to create a mordant solution and Art paper that stopped being useful are the bases I work with. The gentle steaming process transfer the tannin left in the leaves onto the paper in a permanent mark. The limited leaves are used sandwiched to create a double print.
The combination of paper dipped into tannin to create the background is making creating a unique and soft colour palette that is southing to the soul. This print reminds a walk in the park.
It will age gracefully as the Botanical printing process keeps oxidising with time.

Once the item is purchased the maker will be in touch to arrange delivery of the item if it cannot be collected at Custom Lane on Sunday 11th June between 12pm-4pm.
