Connecting Makers: Get Involved

The Connecting Makers programme provides professional development opportunities, for and from our Members, based on responses to our Members survey. Through online and in-person workshops and talks, Connecting Makers creates structured environments for makers to meet regularly, share ideas, and address the most pressing needs of their practices.

We are simultaneously developing and delivering a programme of activities providing opportunities for peer learning and sharing, including paid opportunities for our Members to deliver them based on their expertise and experience.

Connecting Makers themes include:

  • Crafting a Sustainable Career – portfolio revenue streams, grant writing, open calls for artists in community, commissions, crowdfunding, licensing
  • Building a Digital Presence – branding, websites, newsletters, social media selling
  • Expanding Your Audience Locally and Internationally – selling face-to-face, retail, wholesale, international trade and retail fairs
  • Fair Work, Ethical Business Practices, Sustainability – drafting contracts, rates of pay
  • Expanding / Stretching Your Practice: residencies, collaboration
