Since 2005 I have worked either individually or collectively with makers and designers to help promote or / and develop their talents into business, connect them to ,media, creative, commercial and cultural opportunities, and worked with international companies investing in to Scotland.
On the makers side (I also work in music, beauty, well-being, retail & other areas) these include jewellery, clothing, textile design, interiors & products.
I founded &/or developed a number of collective and collaborative not-for-profit projects and events with groups of makers, these include the Glasgow Design Collective, Scotland Re:Designed, From Scotland with Love, Fashion Foundry and PaisleyMake, resulting in many new products, ranges, greater profile and sales. I have also co-curated some major Museum projects, particularly with National Museums Scotland looking at Diversity in areas like Fashion, and designing and promoting new access to Paisley Museum's Textiles Collections.
On the inward investment for specific Makers I have recruited a variety of local authorities, agencies, venues, retailers and factories to work collaboratively to support them in new product development through a number of collaborations, and have worked to bring new skills and investment in to Scottish factories such as Hawick.
