Blessed Unrest is my most recent business evolution as a designer maker, facilitator and collaborator. My textile prints are heavily immersed in the hand screen printing process which I've been developing and exploring for over 25 years of practice, experimentation, crafted skills and knowledge of materials, techniques and processes.
My present work explores the layering of collage, hand drawn and photographic imagery. Layering is at the heart of my creative process and I work intuitively with the screen, inks and squeegee to create abstract works of art on cloth. Considered transparency or opaque qualities of the printing ink, along with hand cut paper stencils, gives me control over which areas of the imagery are seen or revealed. The rhythm and flow of the design as well as the spaces between images are of specific importance in creating balance and tension in equal part.
My screen printed artworks are translated onto product based objects and accessories which allow them to have functionality and a distinctive purpose and use.
