Lorna Fraser’s hand-built porcelain work is inspired by the infinite array of forms in the botanical world. She explores the sculptural quality of plants, responding to their structure whilst selecting favourite composite shapes in order to create her own ceramic “hybrids”.
She also draws inspiration from the huge collection of pressed plant specimens, impressive seed pods as well as the spirit collection of
pickled flowers and fruits stored in the herbarium of the Royal Botanic Garden.
She has exhibited widely both nationally and internationally and was invited to exhibit in the British Pavilion at the 2017 Cheongju International Craft Biennale, S.Korea.
